I watch a lot of video. Shocking, I know. I watch videos that I produce. I watch videos to learn more about my clients’ industries. I watch videos for entertainment. I watch videos for products I’m considering buying and companies I’d like to hire. I’ve recently been pulled into watching this video over and over with my six year old son. (S-s-salamander!)
So, I know that I like video. I know that my clients get a great response when they use video, and that I get fantastic feedback when I share a video. And I know that I am not alone.
All the same, I found a series of articles lately that have shocked me. Do you know the numbers? They are truly staggering.
In 2015, 57% of all web traffic is video.
By 2017, that number is expected to rise to 69%.
And by 2018, wait for it . . . to 79%!!
Think about it. In 2.25 short years, 8 out of every 10 minutes spent online will be spent watching video. Is your business ready? Do you have a video strategy mapped out, and an implementation and distribution plan in place to actually make that strategy a reality?
